Welcome to TripWander (the “App”). We highly value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

Important Notice: TripWander follows a local-first data storage strategy. Except for transaction data required by the App Store, we do not upload your trip data or location data to any external server.

1. Information We Collect

TripWander is an offline utility app and follows the principle of data minimization:

• Trip Data: All trips, notes, and budget records you create are stored entirely on your device (sandbox). We do not access, view, or synchronize this data.
• Photos and Media: Photos you choose to import are stored locally on your device and are only used to generate shared images or PDF files.
• Location Data: Location information (including real-time location and trajectory points) obtained with your explicit consent is stored exclusively on your device. It is used solely to create trip maps and draw trajectory maps — we do not collect, transmit, or share this location data with any third parties.

2. System Permissions

To provide full functionality, the App may request the following permissions. You may revoke them at any time in system settings, which may limit certain features:

• Photos Permission: Used to select photos from your library or save generated images/PDFs. We only access items you explicitly choose and do not scan your entire photo library.
• Camera Permission: Used to take photos and add them to your trips (if applicable).
• Notifications: Used solely for local trip reminders triggered on your device.
• Location Permission (While Using the App, Location in Use): Requested temporarily only when using the trip map creation feature to obtain real-time location and mark trip points on the map. Data is stored exclusively on your device, and location access stops immediately after closing the App.
• Location Permission (Always Allow, Location Always): Requested only when you manually enable the background trajectory recording feature to record trip routes and draw trajectory maps in the background. Data is stored exclusively on your device — you may revoke this permission at any time in system settings to stop recording.

3. Third-Party Services and In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock premium templates:

• Transaction Data: All payments are processed by Apple App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information (such as credit card numbers or billing addresses).
• Purchase Records: We receive anonymous transaction receipts from Apple solely to verify premium feature access and do not use this information for any other purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data (including trip data and location trajectory data) is stored locally on your device. Data security therefore depends on your device security measures.

Backups: We recommend using iCloud or iTunes device backups, or exporting your trip data manually. If you uninstall the App, all data stored in the app sandbox (including trip data and location trajectory data) will be permanently deleted by iOS and cannot be recovered.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any material changes will be announced within the App with a reasonable advance notice and will take effect on the date specified in the notice.
